Thank you, it was a surprisingly sturdy little ship!

This is one of the more "make bad art" school of things I've made, & it was such a joy (& challenge, to build overnight from what's on hand light enough to float, & that won't tip over in the wind). Excited to make more things that interact w/outdoors, including more polished installation-sized art:

Remixed quotes=in italic: Warde's poem + Sandia Lab's report text for warning future generations from protected nuclear waste sites. Nonitalic=my critical tech writingβ€”a press is but its printers (a community printshop only for the community made safe there; πŸ’œ printing by acting for good)

Photo of a letterpress print on cream paper with copper-brown ink. It says "This Is A Printing-Office":
THIS IS A PRINTING OFFICE
Like all technology: human choice, if evil or good
This place is not a place of honor but it could be a place of hope
Refuge of arts, craft, community, learning
a megaphone for justice, fearless truth slipping bit rot & digital censorship: or playing at a whitewashed past; to pretend away present fascism
The center of danger is here; the center of hope is here
The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours (the possibility, too) From this place you may send words of justice, liberation, reparation, collective care: or serving capital, stoking hate
A press is but its printers
Friend you stand on ground
You make sacredβ€”or not

My new posters from @wolfproofpress.com are up!!

Two posters on a white column.

Top:
Small banner style poster, stiff white paper. With silver text "A COMPUTER can never be held accountable, therefore A COMPUTER must never make a management decision."

Bottom:
~9"x13" brown stiff chipboard poster. Press inking text in Blue-Violet

For some particular infra folks who actually lead the university: deliberately overlooked, routinely underestimated, capaciously knowledgeable, injecting care into bureaucracy. Thanks to all the Doloreses for making academia run instead of trying to say "AI" loudest. Many Dolores; no president.

QT: "Thinking of that tweet re:everyone in academia knows a 60yo woman only known by her 1st name, who actually runs the dept/uni. (Which is almost at an anarchist understanding: not "make Dolores president" but "many Doloreses, no president" and "how can you Dolores too")"
Dr. Cottom tweet: "Anyway, your problem isn't finding the time to take notes. The problem is that taking notes is thinking and thinking has to be done by someone. women have been doing a lot of metacognition that looks like a task when it's really thinking."

Thinking about a purple/lavender ink with bread & wheat (& justice?) imagery; and maybe a sunrise-gradient version. Let me know if you like sending cards & have suggestions! The included bread recipe is the only part of the old card I'm sure I'm keeping (it's good bread)

Gonna print a new version of my 🍞-recipe holiday/greeting cards. If you send cards: text votes or ideas? 1) Wish I was breaking bread (& fascism?) w/you; 'til then this recipe will have to do 2) Breaking fascism, bread: each better together 3) May next year brings justice, love, & more fresh-baked 🍞

Photo of a static version of letterpress print on yellow paper with a red-orange-purple gradient giant pointing hand in the background, and blue ink on the text. It says "printers fist: Lil handy inky printing block added at time of printing. / be it known: i will die on this hill: most precisely manicule... means Opinionated reader's doodle hand-drawn after publication to comment / pls / O! speak not of manicule when a printers fist! may more powerfully be wielded?! / Scholarship by Kadin Henningsen / Infelicities from Amanda Wyatt Visconti".
