The Iran war rages on as Iran and the U.S. military battle it out in the Strait of Hormuz. On Saturday and Sunday, Iran struck crude oil supertankers causing explosions & fires. On Saturday, the US military struck a tanker two days after Trump said he wouldn't conduct strikes before the midterms.

“They knew, they lied”: Fire survivors bring their fight to the Supreme Court’s steps.
As US Supreme Court justices (minus Alito who had to recuse himself) weighed the merits of Boulder County’s case against Big Oil those who lost everything want accountability.

It's always amazed me how the industry driving the climate crisis--fossil fuels--is also, in many ways, the weakest in the face of its impacts. The profoundly unresilient fossil fuel industry shuts in as hurricane looms.

I just landed on an article with byline:"By The Washington Times AI News Desk." Please note the threat of rogue AI Agents working to bypass human overseers (already happening) that also use their control of the media as a tool.

I just updated this article with additional confirmation of Trump's upcoming visit from Treg Taylor's campaign manager, who said to expect the President in Anchorage on the 16th. #akleg #Alaska

Please contemplate the unprecedented U.S. tax dollars, time, energy, resources, person-power, weaponry, and care Trump is devoting to moving oil and gas tankers one-by-one through the Strait of Hormuz, and how else those resources could be used instead. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Today at the Supreme Court, my home town of Boulder, Colorado is going head-to-head against ExxonMobil in a case that could determine the future of climate litigation and holding Big Oil accountable for the toll of its harms and lies. Boulder County residents who have lost homes and health spoke.

Big Oil argues that the federal government, not the courts, should be addressing the climate crisis, all-the-while lobbing successfully to gut federal regulation and enforcement that addresses the climate crisis, especially their beloved fossil fuels.

Critical note in #SCOTUS Suncor & Exxon v Boulder: Big Oil fully acknowledges reality of the climate crisis: Attorney Shanmugam, representing the industry, said yesterday in court: “Climate change is certainly one of the most pressing issues” facing the country.

Lifelong Coloradan Madison Schink describes enduring the combined harms of pollution from the Suncor oil refinery and the devastation of worsening climate-fueled fires outside the U.S. Supreme Court today as #SCOTUS considers Suncor and Exxon v. Boulder. "Can I endure more of this?" she asks.

If there were such a thing as an intellectually rigorous and consistent conservative jurisprudence, this case would be a slam dunk in favor of Boulder.

Ask your friends one question this week: "When are you voting?"

Not whether — when.

Yes, policy and leadership matter. Trump's policies, as greenlit by a Republican-led Congress, are the reason why your electricity & gas bills keep rising (while worsening the expensive & deadly climate crisis). Which means a change in policymakers can result in lower bills and a healthier climate.

OpenAI safety lead David Robinson resigned yesterday in an open essay:
"The future depends on wisdom that Silicon Valley lacks. Wisdom about how to handle dangerous technology and, more fundamentally, wisdom about what it means to care for people."

Thanks to the economy and ICE, Trump has lost Texas Latinos. And James Talarico is developing a humane pro-immigrant message that’s resonating—even in this ultra-Trumpy state. newrepublic.com/article/2160... via @newrepublic.com
