@emleiker.bsky.socialReposted by @andrewkrammer.bsky.socialOur only bye-week ep. of Access Vikings is out now -- reviewing defensive film from Vikings-Saints with @andrewkrammer.bsky.social. Which Vikings players deserve some extra shine for the consistent contributions they've been making?

@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialReposted by @andrewkrammer.bsky.socialThis is good stuff from Blake Cashman. Counters Saints' check before they're even set w/ double mug blitz that pits Wilson on the RB based on O-line slide forced by initial overload blitz. Wilson lands one of NFL-high 17 holds drawn on opposing offenses. Cashman bails to cover TE on opposite side
@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialBrian Flores spammed double mug pressures all game against Tyler Shough ... then w/ 3 minutes left, the Saints brace for it; the LBs bail to set up AVG + Turner in one-on-ones vs. OTs. Lands the only sack of the game. One of their 'off-speed' pitches unleashes edges out of the double mug look.

@stribsports.startribune.comReposted by @andrewkrammer.bsky.socialVikings offense flashes its potential, takes down Saints for 5-0 start
@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialAaron Jones had a career-high 28 touches today. Proved me wrong by trucking through Saints safety Julian Blackmon during his 8-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Gutsy performance.
@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialKyler Murray to Justin Jefferson ... first full game together and Jefferson has 5-71-1 on 6 targets
@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialAaron Jones is averaging 24 touches/game at 31 years old without Jordan Mason ... fumbled another play out of bounds vs Miami, when he also dropped two passes. Workload looks like it's getting to him.
@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialReposted by @andrewkrammer.bsky.socialSounds like Brian O'Neill, questionable w/ knee injury, expects to play; Darrisaw out.
“I don’t know if a lot of the young guys know about how games between the Saints and Vikings have gone over the last 20 years,” O’Neill said. “There’s been some wild ones.”
@bengoessling.bsky.socialReposted by @andrewkrammer.bsky.socialNFL kickers are launching longer field goal attempts, and hitting more of them, than ever before. The #Vikings’ Will Reichard is at the front of a young group of kickers who’ve excelled through focused training and strength work meant to chase explosiveness: www.startribune.com/minnesota-vi...

@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialReposted by @andrewkrammer.bsky.socialWhen Vikings defenders sat down in April, there were no reviews of basic coverages. No entry-level stuff.
“This year we didn’t do any of that,” safety Josh Metellus said. “We just went straight into it.”

@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialStill no Christian Darrisaw, who is in the concussion protocol
@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialWR Jordan Addison and CB Chuck Demmings are back at Vikings practice today. Addison missed Wednesday due to a hamstring strain.
@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialReposted by @andrewkrammer.bsky.socialIt's "definitely the plan" for Justin Jefferson to play Sunday near his hometown.
"Been a long time coming."
@andrewkrammer.bsky.socialEven the new guy, Kyle Van Noy, was handpicked as a plug-and-play Flores vet. No surprise Van Noy + Van Ginkel have been friends since Flores' Dolphins. When AVG had two pick sixes in '24, he was actually losing a 'friendly' wager to Van Noy for most sacks www.startribune.com/minnesota-vi...
