🍂 As autumn arrives and flu season approaches, vaccines need to stay protected from the moment they are made to the moment they are used.

Vincenzo Cerullo of @helsinki.fi developed a wood-based coating that keeps vaccines stable for months at temperatures up to 40°C.

Hello, we feel there is a bit of a mix up here as the ERC doesn't directly fund fellowships. Perhaps you are referring to this MSCA funded fellowship? cordis.europa.eu/project/id/1...

In fact, the ERC Scientific Council has recently revised the evaluation process to put greater emphasis on the research project itself, rather than on the applicant’s CV and track record.

@erc.europa.euOct 5, 2026, 2:34 PM

Just to clarify: there is no triage of ERC applications based on applicants’ CVs, AI-assisted or otherwise. Proposals are peer reviewed by panels of renowned researchers. (1 of 2 👇)

🏅Peter Hegemann shared the 2026 Medicine Nobel Prize for his breakthroughs that paved the way for optogenetics, which enables controlling the activity of cells with light.
