☕ @lgudlin.bsky.social, @krunovuk.bsky.social, Novak et al propose spindle scaling in response to chromosome crowding consistent across eukaryotes; metaphase plate width scales with genome size following a power law with an exponent of ~1/3. @ivatolic.bsky.social

☕Wernaart, Fumagalli et al. report ADAR1 and FTSJ1 as regulators of tryptophan-to-phenylalanine substitution in cancer. ADAR1 sustains mistranslation via ribosome quality control. FTSJ1 methylates tRNATrp and allows tRNATrp mischarging by phenylalanine.

☕ @nadlerlab.bsky.social @mathilda95.bsky.social & co evaluate lipid enrichment in clathrin-coated pits and observe that the differential lipid partitioning into clathrin-coated pits is largely driven by the lipid asymmetry of the plasma membrane.

☕Vinsland et al. provide a single-cell and spatial transcriptomics atlas of postconceptional week 5–13 human #meninges and perform comparative studies with #meningioma data.

☕Meiring, Mahapatra et al. show that expanded microtubule lattice conformations, such as those induced by small-molecule taxanes, can lead to the release of GEF-H1 and thus induce RhoA activation.

☕Li, Jiang et al present DePass, a graph-based #DeepLearning framework for integrating paired #multiomics data in spatial and single-cell contexts. A dual-enhancement approach is used to remove noise from raw omics data.

☕Two studies show that the ER-associated protein CLN8 catalyses the acyl CoA-dependent acylation of glycerophosphoglycerol, producing lysophosphatidylglycerol, which is then converted into BMP. These results provide insight into CLN8 Batten disease.

☕ @majarad.bsky.social et al. show that phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PI3P), produced by the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase PIK3C3, is formed on ER domains after lysosome damage. ER domain PI3P helps to recruit the ATPase DFCP1, which promotes lysosome repair.
