Judge extends temporary access to White House for news organizations Trump banned
The FDA said it expects to complete its safety review of abortion pills by mid-December and issue a report by March 2027.
“Instead of the promised gold-standard study, the FDA is trying to peddle fool’s gold," said Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America's president.

Note: That is not, in fact, what socialism is. However, this may be one of the more revealing political moments of the past decade: a leading politician openly acknowledging efforts to redefine a political term based on contemporary political rhetoric, as opposed to its original/historic meaning.
If the Trump administration ends up restricting abortion pills, it will likely do it after the midterms. The FDA's ETA to finish and evaluate a long-awaited abortion-drug safety review is March 2027: stateline.org/2026/10/08/f...

"The FDA sets the bar, and states don’t get to impede access to an FDA-approved medication."

Today, the FDA is expected to update the public on the progress of its review on the safety of abortion drugs. Regardless of what happens with the review or ongoing lawsuits, abortion foes say they'll continue to pursue abortion pill restrictions in the states: stateline.org/2026/10/07/a...
Abortion rights groups aren't happy either, and are blasting FDA for launching what they see as a “sham review” w the predetermined goal of restricting the drug despite its extensive safety record. As is often the case with abortion, trying to please everyone results in pissing off everyone.
The Trump admin must update a federal court in Louisiana TODAY on the status of its ongoing review of mifepristone, a drug used in most abortions. Ahead of the filing, anti-abortion groups aired grievances ab the agency's narrow scope, slow speed & secrecy. They're unlikely to be satisfied today.
NEW: Amid ongoing lawsuits seeking to revoke nationwide access to abortion drug mifepristone, AGs in Louisiana, Arkansas and Alabama have filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Supreme Court seeking to strike down shield laws in states with abortion access.
