My student Erin Barr's work (whilst at the ANU) on 14C and pangolins is out! It works as a cool dietary isotope. These insectivores look such individuals in what they choose to eat. What are the implications for conservation? @sf14c.bsky.social @unioxarchaeology.bsky.social @isotopesuk.bsky.social

Archaeologists get to choose what they specialise in, anywhere in the world & any time in 3 million years of human existence.

We asked our new Head of School, Professor Damian Robinson to tell us how he became a #maritime #archaeologist 📽️ 👨‍🎓🌊🪣

Gaze upon this picture & let's have a quick cry because we forgot to do a postgraduate degree in archaeological science with a specialism in tephrochronology so we could work in places like this too. Well done @oxfordtephra.bsky.social & @danielmaclean.bsky.social 👏👏👏

A lush tropical forest surrounds a bright blue lake in caldera. Green leaves, pink flowers and fluffy white clouds against a bright blue sunny sky.

Whilst migrating the School website to its new form (TBC) I have found incredible photos taken by our Trephrochronolgy team on a sampling trip to the islands of Terceira, Graciosa & Faial & I think they found the starting point of A Journey to the Centre of the Earth! 🌋📷 @oxfordtephra.bsky.social
