Cloud Empress at retail has been selling really well! It's been humbling to see the hype and community-building continue well after the Kickstarter two years ago.

In the spirit of community-driven game dev, come vote on my ecological TTRPG Burial Cloud's border/margin decoration. Beautiful work by @pbbeta.bsky.social www.patreon.com/worldsbywatt...

It's always refreshing to stumble upon a strong and unfamiliar artistic style in a TTRPG. I interviewed Gwen Clark about her upcoming Panic Engine symbiote black ops horror game, SOPHONT. www.patreon.com/worldsbywatt...

A silhouetted operative explodes into a colorful extension of their symbiotic power. Kiln class.

Not for a while, but hoping to have a lot of free content coming out on DriveThruRPG and the Patreon for at least a year.

Yah! Kind of a spiritual sequel, still using the Panic Engine/Mothership rules. It's my take on dragons—feathered and commercially hunted in a late-1800s Russian-inspired empire on the cusp of revolution. Plucked or molted feathers cast spells.

For months, I've been writing about a Trinket Keeper, a small junk shop, and a broken heart in a big city for my ecological fantasy TTRPG, Burial Cloud. The last two pages are up on Patreon (free trial for those who want to grab them without a paid sub). www.patreon.com/worldsbywatt...

Glad it was insightful!

I do actually love how much RPGs end up making esoteric symbols like mystics of old.

This is why one of the worst ways to pitch your game is by describing how your fantasy-heartbreaker fixes D&D by adding a d6 (or some other minor mechanical change) to improve the bell curve on dice rolls (but something I see folks leading with quite frequently).

Also, a baseball field for the athletically inclined. Trying to tap into the baseball market.

I keep making my TTRPG character stats layout look more and more like something you'd receive in a free pamphlet from a cult member. Not sure if that's what we're going for, but arranging geometric shapes is fun.

Two intersecting squares with the character attributes force, agility, accuracy, knowledge, logic, dramatics, empathy, endurance, and hope.

Post about iterating Burial Cloud character sheets. What can you trust/expect of a player if your game is designed for campaign play versus conventions and one-shots?

No nearly enough symbiote content. leo out here to fix it!

Beautiful stuff! It never gets old looking at all those books!

As I've been trying to wean myself off a relentless crowdfunding cycle, I think gardening might be my new inspiration for designing TTRPGs. Free newsletter post about making sustainable games and Wendell Berry:
