Weird pervert, junk movie lover.
Patty McGoo driving a car like a normal person.
Also, this cut from the murder to Columbo arriving on scene, pretty cool.
McGoohan looks like he's having a hell of a lot of fun in this one, squawking his way through the dialogue like a nutter. Hell of a 180 from his first appearance.
Today's Columbo, this one appears to be fun already! McGoohan AND Nielsen? Oh, you spoil me show.
Yeah. Alright.
Extremely depressing exploitation.
No, it's fantastic and cool, keep it up!
Fantastic! Really interesting, nuanced take! Glad you felt the need to share that opinion apropos of nothing, I really am!
Brexit has shown they cannot be trusted with nostalgia. All pictures of the past are to be replaced with hedgehogs until such time the British electorate can think of the present and future. God save the king and all hedgehogkind.
On the one hand, Kermode comparing it to Deal of the Century put me off it quite a bit, that's a comparison one can not make lightly. On the other hand, a lot of people whose opinion I personally trust have said it's really worth seeing. I know which end of that equation is more important to me.
It is indeed our first, and like with Tenebrae, probably wouldn't have been my first choice, but it is A Choice and a pretty hefty one!

I think "action to the point of horror" would be a good descriptor.
Oh, believe me, it makes the first look positively restrained towards the end. But it DOES have a great end, I'll give it that.
Worth pointing out that Timo Tjahjanto, director of Night... Got his start doing horror films and sort of brings that grody sensibility across into his later action stuff. Though maybe not Nobody 2, I can't imagine it going THAT extreme. Still need to see it.
The Raid 2 is good as an actioner. BUT! I mainly remember it for the action. I don't remember the story at all. Which is an issue. The Night Comes For Us is one you'd probably want to track down to see just how extreme the Indonesian actioners got later on. Joe Taslim is the hero. Iko's the baddy!
I think if I could pick a big hole in it, it's that apart from Taslim and Iko's characters, the rest of the squad are pretty interchangeable and not given much character. Would have just taken a couple of minutes group interplay in a chopper!
I meant to say @vickyblue21.bsky.social NEXT WEEK 4 realz 4 realz
Watch out for her announcer tomorrow!
Enjoyed revisiting that one, was I completely serious about it being a horror? Only partly. It still has the desired, overloading effect of making me suck air through my teeth in a wince.
Nice one @princeymovies.bsky.social, @vickyblue21.bsky.social for REAL HORROR (?)
Nearing the end, I... I think I'd recommend The Raid 2 if you like this. Though be warned, it feels much more like a John Wick sequel than the tight, constrained thing this is. Goes WAY overboard.
With HAMMERS.
