Calling all ghouls, goblins, and spooky season lovers to Somerville’s annual “Truck O’ Treat” on Thursday, October 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. outside City Hall (93 Highland Avenue)! Rain date: Thursday, November 5.

A family in Halloween costumes—an adult in a blue fuzzy suit crouches by a stroller with a toddler in blue and an older child holding an orange trick-or-treat bag—posing in front of the Loch Ness Loader as a Mr. Potato Head character walks by at sunset during last years Truck o'Treat event.

More information on safe disposal is available at somervillema.gov/safe-sharps-...

If you use sharps to manage a medical condition for yourself, a loved one, or even a pet, the kiosks offer a safe and easily accessible way to discard sharps. Remember that throwing sharps away in your regular trash is illegal and hazardous.

@cityofsomerville.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 3:01 PM

Somerville’s Dual Sharps Kiosks are available 24/7 to anyone and accept all kinds of sharps, including medical sharps like needles, injection pens, lancets, & more. As of late September, the City’s 3 outdoor kiosks have collected 1,727 pounds of individual sharps and sharps containers so far!
