The young half-Vulcanās lifeless body drifts motionless among the wreckage. The separation succeeded but at what cost?
TāVala is lost in the cold silence of space, while the damaged Horizon struggles to survive.
The restraints groan as they release. Then one jams.
Instead of separating, the saucer tears away from the secondary hull, ripping through the control room.
TāVala is hurled into space, straight into the vacuum.
Itās stuck. Damn it. The restraint isnāt moving, no matter what I try.
Robert is still working on his side.
I can hear the ship groaning around us. None of this sounds good.
We have to release the restraints manually.
Robert takes the right control room, I take the left. If we get this wrong, the ship could tear itself apart.
And if we fail completely⦠we die from radiation. No pressure.
Sometimes I look into a mirror and wonder what it really shows.
A face, a past, a thousand choices or simply the person I am right now.
Maybe the reflection isnāt there to tell us who we were, but who we choose to become.
Robert and I are at the restraints holding the secondary section. The Captain wants to separate it to prevent radiation exposure.
Lt. Miller says the restraints are damaged. Damn. If they fail, we have a very serious problem.
Robert is also here.
An attack. Damn it! I have no idea who they were, but we held them off. The Horizon is badly damaged.
The Captain sent a distress call. Iām helping evacuate the secondary section.
Warp core leak. This is getting serious.

Red alert.
No idea why. Iām not on bridge duty, so for now Iām staying ready and waiting for orders.
Something tells me this isnāt going to be a quiet morning.
When you have a lot of time as a child, there are quite a few things you can do to pass the time. Let's finish our drinks. No, the ship is calling, time to head back.
Love used to feel like something I could analyze.
Then Robert came along and made me realize some things arenāt meant to be understood only felt.
With him, even the simplest moments feel like something I want to keep forever.

The Science Department just discovered several previously unknown elements.
Thatās seriously cool! I love seeing what we can still discover out here.
The universe clearly has a few surprises left for us.
I imagine ordinary Vulcans rarely, if ever, dance. Good thing Iām not ordinary. So, Iād love to.

Okay, the look is more "casual office." So, hereās a bonus track with a touch of chic.

Weāre staying with the nebula for two more days.
The Science Department is absolutely thrilled about that.

It gives me a little more time to take care of some other important things while weāre here.
