Seen earlier today on the #SBB🇨🇭#Gotthard line: an #SBBhistoric excursion train. The short consist included the red lightweight #DiningCar #WR700 from 1958 and was hauled by an #Re6/6 #Re620 electric. When they were built in the 1970s, these locos were among the world’s most powerful locomotives.

Neu ab 1.11.: 2 tägliche Zugpaare Baku🇦🇿 - Tbilisi 🇬🇪, künftig gibt es nebem dem Nachtzug auch ein Zugpaar tagsüber. Leider mWn nach wie vor nicht von Leuten mit 🇪🇺-Pass benutzbar.

After Kil, the Värmlansbanan curves through a hilly landscape with countless lakes. The sun has just set and all is illuminated by a magical light! 🥰
Fortunately, we can enjoy this a little longer as we (again!) don't cross the border to Norway and leave the train at Arvika.

#Sarajevo 🇧🇦 station, one early morning in September 2008. In the foreground we see the train bound for #Ploče 🇭🇷 by the #Adriatic Sea, via the scenic Ivan Sedlo mountain pass line, Konjic and Mostar. #İzmir 🇹🇷 #Alsancak station in June 2010. A #TCDD overnight service has arrived from #Ankara, hauled by a Class DE22000 diesel. Engineer and Conductor are shaking hands. This is what railwaymen and -women do in many countries, at the beginning or the end of a shift, wishing each other safe travels.
