@csaki01.bsky.socialI've bought and played No Man's Sky for 92 hours, while on launch I'd have refunded it if I bought it. I respect that they stuck with the game and their people though I don't like the direction that they are expanding the game in (directed experiences). Fallout 76 got a worse version of that.
@csaki01.bsky.socialThis capitalist approach to games development prevents fast and efficient teams to form and results in worse games overall. Just look at the live service games that are thriving and pushing out great quality content regularly for a counter example: Grinding Gear Games and Digital Extremes.
@csaki01.bsky.socialI'll humor you. Directors are paid immensely more than the average game developer and they receive a lot of fame that gets them hired again. Game development studios however will move on to a new project and hire new developers for cheaper or the same developers without giving them the raise.
