Happy 13 years Final Fantasy XIV I think it really is my favorite game

I'll counter your anecdote with my own in that I've complained plenty about the game and not met with this 'toxic positivity' people always bring up Hell a stream clip of mine went viral that was about a bad part of XIV and informing people why it was bad

and this is not from a lack of experience either I've played Dota 2. I've played Xbox 360 era Call of Duty and Halo in their heyday. I've been a part of communities without the active moderation or social etiquette that XIV has, it's not even a comparison

Legit, same thing with fan fest. Going there and seeing how much fun and joy is around just confirms that social media and media coverage really does not reflect reality

Of course like any community it's not perfect and has its own bad eggs, but to say that as a whole or it trends towards some of the worse gaming communities, I just think folk are either doing something wrong or not finding the right people "Just be yourself" only works if you're not a dick

Idk how hot a take this is but Whenever someone says that XIV's community is aweful I just feel like it's a self report I've been playing on an incognito alt for a few months with no pre-established audience, no streaming, just engaging and being friendly, and the players are still wonderful
