Getting an update on the Purple Line. What questions do you have?

Maryland is paying the price for Trump’s trade war. Canada is Maryland’s #1 export market. Trade wars may make for tough talk on cable news, but here in Maryland, we’re talking about jobs, prices and our economy.

I agree. The best strategy is to reduce waste overall and recycle/compost the rest. That said, there is still need to do something with the remaining amount.

Big discussion today on trash management. What do we do with the 1.5 million tons of waste produced every year? Where do we put the trash we generate if we close the incinerator? How can we increase recycling and food composting?

It’s a great field!

My colleagues and I on the Economic Development Committee are reviewing the strategic plan for Visit Montgomery, the county’s visitor and tourism bureau. What’s your favorite place or thing about Montgomery County that more people should know about?

A true joy to attend the renaming of Gaithersburg’s Olde Towne Plaza as Sidney Katz Plaza. I’m so appreciative to have served alongside Sidney and to know his warmth, humor and deep commitment to our community.

I’m deeply saddened by the passing of Beryl Feinberg, a former Rockville City Councilmember and longtime Montgomery County public servant. Her leadership and friendship touched so many lives. My thoughts are with her husband Ed and her family. May her memory be a blessing.

This 18-month pause gives us the time to do exactly that. I appreciate the collaboration of my Council colleagues in unanimously passing this measure. I also want to thank the many residents who have shared their thoughts and concerns with me throughout this process.

We see the consequences of hyperscale data centers in our region and across the country. The impacts on our electric bills, power grid, and the Potomac River need to be fully understood before approving permits that could have irreversible impacts on our community.

This is a big deal for Montgomery County. Yesterday the County Council passed an 18-month pause on new data center development. I’ve been advocating for a pause because we need to slow down, ask the right questions, and set a responsible path forward.
