This is a great reminder of just a few reasons why Trump needs a good drubbing at the mid-terms if Americans have any self respect. POTUS45/47 really has a lot to answer for
Great to be on Politics South this week! We discussed the importance of reading, building a more hopeful culture, the recent anti-migrant protests, and much more. Tune in to BBC One at 10am tomorrow to watch the full programme.
Have also been working with Filo Project - visiting their home host programme & supporting their asks on funding and taxation. There is so much we need to do to reduce the impact of dementia on those living with it, their families and indeed the councils who are struggling to fund it
Had such a fantastic time joining a rehearsal with the Military Wives Choir! What an inspiring group of talented and inspiring women, with a fabulous sense of community 🎶
Final call for dinner with @joshbabarinde.bsky.social

This week is #KinshipCareWeek. Kinship carers are family members or close friends who take on the care of a child when their parents are unable to do so.
It was brilliant to meet with Lesley who is part of the Kinship Charity, and to hear more about the important support the charity provides.
Every school should have a Young Carers Champion. I've called for a meeting with the Minister for Children and Families and the MYTIME CEO to keep pushing for this important change. The upcoming Education for All Bill gives us a real opportunity to make Young Carer Champions a legal requirement.
Did you know 8 of the top 10 recycling councils in England are Lib Dem led? Mid Suffolk, a Green majority council, ranks 162nd, and Brighton was among the worst in the country when they ran it. @ollygrender.bsky.social put the figures to the government in the Lords in April.
Such a treat to go out on Poole Harbour with @harbourbirds.bsky.social to see what's going on with our wildlife at the moment.
It was also absolutely fascinating to hear about the advocacy work of @wildjustice.bsky.social and all they're doing to hold the gov and big organisations to account.
This is pure madness!
Three things cause concern when new homes are built
1) lack of community infrastructure 🏥🦷📚
2) failure to deliver affordable homes 🏠
3) homes without solar/low carbon measures ☀️
Tories have this v wrong
Thank you to @luketaylorld.bsky.social for expressing the views of us in the @libdems.org.uk so clearly.
It was wonderful to spend time with @wildjustice.bsky.social & @harbourbirds.bsky.social yesterday
Seeing huge group of spoonbills, avocets & of course the White Tailed Eagle & sharing time with such lovely people, learning about the various legal cases they have taken on behalf of nature
Agreed. Many green party members are there because they are passionate environmentalists - they would be at home with the party of 🌎Climate & Nature Bill ☀️Sunshine Bill 🦦UNESCO Chalk Streams Bill And a party where our support for Palestine, alongside a secure Israel has been unwavering 🕊️
You have misjudged this totally - I was reflecting the view of young people who themselves do not believe this. I am not advocating for them to have no pension …far from it. The young have been badly treated & need to be higher up the agenda for public investment
That was such an awful display on QT. She might as well have referenced skin colour it was such clear racism 😔

That’s not what politicians are saying - it’s what they say and believe. One of the reasons we need to fix social care is so that young people do have hope for the future and are not saddled with even more chaos. Most people understood the point me and Tom were making
Sorry you are deliberately twisting my words. I have been standing up for young people with student debt, support EU which will provide growth, jobs and opportunity & net zero which will harm the young. Suggest reading all of my posts to see for yourself / goodnight
You have completely failed to read my post. This is about supporting young people. Holding onto triple lock forever is not going to help young people… i was stating that many YP do not believe they will get a pension so triple lock isn’t about them. Hope that clarifies
Not quite sure which bit you think is stupid!
