The wtfs: the race framework and cherrypicking risk, vagueness around average data center size, the decision to ignore gas, the idea that this is all a favor private industry is doing us, the lack of choice.

And speaking of that....

This puts the lie to everything they say about AI being "the future". There is no future if they continue down this path.

"Microsoft, Google, and Amazon can ignore questions from one journalist. It is much harder to ignore employees, customers, investors, and elected officials all asking the same question: How much fossil fuel production is your technology enabling—and what are you going to do about it?" Spot on.

“So you kind of just end up in the same situation, where not enough renewable energy is getting built, and coal plants have their lives extended." (And that's when there IS a substantial amount of new renewables being built for data centers, which is not true here in the US.)
