This week's rummage begins with troubling reports from Clacton’s polling stations of alleged voter intimidation by Reform activists. * Kai Stephens & fireworks that weren’t. * Suffolk Reform’s £500,000 legal challenge hits a Section 5A snag. * Norfolk’s new £215k chief exec raises eyebrows.
Knowing that a foreign power subverted our democracy, then did nothing about it, amounts to collusion with Russia. Since Russia is now an enemy, doesn't that make it treason?
Did Russia interfere in the 2016 EU referendum?

Obviously I am not interested in "moderation" for its own sake, but there are limits to the silliness I can tolerate.

A large cheer resounded at the Muckrakers as one and all welcomed the return of facts back to the European debate. Meanwhile Reform’s Cllr Ryan Coogan remains magnificently unsubdued & Ed Davey finds Burnham’s political capital suddenly less attractive. Read on...

Kemi Badenoch wants to exempt the family home from inheritance tax. But that creates a perverse incentive for elderly people to *upsize* to save IHT. That could double the cost of the policy, and push £100bn+ from savings into housing. A 🧵 on bad tax cuts.
Just got round to reading @samfr.bsky.social's piece on reversing Brexit. It is as good as billed. Basically, it all boils down to one thing: if EU member states want the UK inside the tent, a way will be found. But there is no way back without full and unconditional acceptance of the four freedoms.

“The UK needs to show understanding of European fundamentals in its articulation, asks and actions. Failure to do so leaves the risk of more frustration at continued lack of progress.”
