I blogged about my picks for the Interop 2027 project: www.sarasoueidan.com/blog/interop...
inspired by @vale.rocks @pawelgrzybek.com @tylersticka.com @ohhelloana.blog and others who have blogged about their rankings.
Wrote a thing on why we should have interactive lists on the web: sarahmhigley.com/writing/inte...
If anyone has their own interactive list use cases that aren't covered, send them to me! I'm putting together an ARIA spec PR this month.
What do you want us to work on in 2027?
Here's a web app where you can rank the Interop proposals you care about, giving us data we can use to prioritise feature development.
With the CSS-in-JS mass exit happening, if you need a full stack staff engineer with several OS packages & contributions to her name _and is also really really good at CSS_, I'm available ~
Of course I meant getDisplayMedia, not getUserMedia, which is for live mic and webcam media. Sorry about the typo.
Oh yes, of course getDisplayMedia. Sorry about that.
How to capture device audio on the web today? 🎵🔊 getUserMedia() is not for audio only and forces users to go through a screen sharing option. Not great for audio use cases (notetaking, music, ...) We want to fix this. We have a proposal and would love your input ♥️
After 7.5 months of tweaking, reviewing, and rewriting, the docs for Scroll-Triggered Animations have landed on @developer.mozilla.org (MDN)!

Congrats and thanks to Chris Mills and @estelle.bsky.social for their hard work and sweating the details on this!
Holy shit. Someone has decompiled the Adobe suite, rebuilt it in Rust and released it as open source.
Either all software is dead or the US copyright laws are about to receive an update.
Link Parameters is the thing that gives you the ability to style embedded external SVGs.
Something many have wanted to do for a long time!
If you want to show your support of this, give these 2 issues a thumbs-up and comment:
It’s a real shame that folk a decade ago weren’t warning developers against utterly insane things like CSS-in-J — oh.
The State of HTML 2026 survey is now open!

Thanks, you all, for your responses. I’ve had time to think more about this, read up more on the topic, and did some research. The result ➡️ Opening the can of tooltips, a blog post on our proposal to implement fully accessible and customizable built-in tooltips on the web.
I've received a lot of responses and had really good discussions on this topic. I also did some additional research of my own. Still thinking about it, but will share back soon.
In London? Like the web? Come along *this evening* from 7pm to Shoreditch where the lovely @londonwebstandards.org are hosting some of the prime movers shaking up mobile browser competition (also, me? weird). Tickets (free!) and details here:
Yeah, that's where I draw the line too. Anything more complicated than a single line string probably works better with a popover. Thanks for the use case about icon buttons.
I enjoyed working on this VERY much. I often feel nostalgic about the days when our little Firefox DevTools team was focused on CSS debugging tools.
I've already seen this somewhere 😉
What kind of elements do you most often need a tooltip for? Trying to understand whether tooltips are most often use on focusable elements or not.
