Version 0.0.9 of the EYG CLI is out now, with an updated guide on writing scripts. eyg.run/guides/writi...
Let me know how it works and bonus points if you send me the identifier of your shared script.
A spike of adding Query literals to eyg.run
With literals the table names are fields are in the language in a way that allows the type checker to work with them.
Literals are constrained enough so they can be compiled to SQL make use of the query planner.
Gleam v1.19.0 is out now!

You can use eyg.run as an embedded scripting environment inside the BEAM.
Expose a safe subset of your applications functionality as managed effects to the script.
You can also expose an unsafe subset of the application the choice is yours.
I recognise that pastry shot. Great choice
You have less than two weeks left to submit your talk proposal for Gleam Gathering 2027 in London next February.
Passion projects, side quests, civic missions, complete and incomplete yak shaves are all welcome. gleamgathering.com#call-for-talks
Get your tickets now. Also there are now less than two weeks to submit talks. gleamgathering.com#call-for-talks
I didn't just write my own programming language and editor so I could create another version of todoMVC....
Got Jev wired up to write EYG code. It seems an effective combo
EYG is a great choice of language for agents. Types and effects give strong feedback. Here I've implemented tools that the agent can use to create HTML artifacts and lay them out using a tiling window manager.
EYG gets a discord, syntax highlighting and some improvements to package publishing.
EYG now has syntax highlight, and I think it looks kinda nice. This is a much of a surprise to me as anyone else. I've never given much though to the syntax beyond adding the minimum I need at any moment.
what a takeover
@crowdhailer.bsky.social is doing it again! This time Gleam Gathering will come to London. See you there?
A choice selection of libraries from the community and just over one month remaining to submit talks to Gleam Gathering 2027.
This weeks GleamWeekly is here. gleamweekly.com/issues/95/
I'm looking forward to hosting a second Gleam Gathering. gleamgathering.com
It's less nerve wracking this time because I know what the steps are. It's more nerve wracking because the first was such a success.
Well that's lame. Not cool Sweden, not cool.
Gleam Gathering 2027 tickets available and the call for talks is open. That and a lovely selection of blog posts from the community land in this weeks issue.
I've finally found the time to push a claim that I've made for a while the EYG is fun for embedding in other applications. In this case the hashi from Jak.
Need a few API improvements then it will be a case of defining your effects and it just works.
