From the archives: So many construction workers are misclassified, have their wages stolen, aren't given the benefits they've earned, even when they're grievously injured on the job. Read Isabela Escalona on the abuse rampant in this sector.

The Minneapolis Public Schools district is proposing to close more than a dozen schools. Educators are blasting the plan as devastating to students and teachers, and completely perplexing. "It is an affront to each one of us." @amiestager reports on an MFE Local 59 rally in the rain.

The Teays Valley School District in Ohio needs more funds to better serve its students. Yet, the school district still voted in favor of 30+ years of property tax breaks for Anduril. Incredible story by @tkbarnes.bsky.social about how weapons companies are literally taking money from needy schools.

Now, Common Ground Collective and pro-school privatization interest groups are preparing to spend millions in the race for Chicago's first fully elected school board. If you live in a district where one of their 18 endorsed candidates are running, you're almost certainly being barraged by ads rn.

Sacks is also a major AIPAC donor, and Common Ground went on the warpath against progressives who helped pass a Jan. 2024 resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. Then, last year, Sacks helped tank a tax on Chicago's largest corporations that could have brought in ~$82 million.
