Some people don't think it's a big deal. Those people are very stupid (and probably have even more COVID-caused brain damage than I do). Ignore them. Stay in bed. Listen to audiobooks. Do not work. Do not exercise. Sleep to survive.

Take off work and rest. Do not work remotely. If you can't sleep, take sleeping aids (from your dr, if you have one). COVID causes brain damage. Full stop. Take it from your neighborhood friend with Long COVID, do everything in your power to avoid this. Rest like it's your job.

I've been seeing people post they have COVID for the first time. First of all, it's likely not the first time. It may be the first time it's shown up on a test, but you probably had an infection. But most importantly, please take it seriously. Get paxlovid (from telehealth, if you don't have a dr).

That's very true. And although I like horror a lot, I do not like those hopeless, all-is-lost, nihilistic endings. I like the main characters wrapped in emergency blankets and the big bad dealt with appropriately.

The CSA has given me radishes three weeks in a row so tonight I roasted radishes and it did NOT go over well with the teen. I thought it was hard to mess up roasted vegetables but I was wrong.

It's surprisingly scary, but it has a "happy" ending with justice served, if that helps! My son and I really liked it. The End of Oak Street is another one I really enjoyed, that isn't very scary (not nearly as much as Hokum).

"If you can't be bothered to write it, why should I be bothered to read it?" is my essential stance against GenAI.

ChatGPT is adding the signatures of real New Yorker cartoonists to its AI-generated images. So far, I've found the signatures of more than 15 contributors.

Today I took my kid to school; had breakfast with my parents; went food shopping; dropped off books at the library and returns to the post office; worked 9 hours; cooked meatloaf, green beans, and mashed potatoes for dinner; cleaned up from dinner; applied for a grant; continued to battle an illness

Trying to imagine someone writing an anti-plagiarism think piece 10 years ago that is promptly found out to be plagiarized (and the author claiming a lack of awareness of the publication’s anti-plagiarism policy)

Writers, if you are against AI, do not put your writing into ANY tool that is itself AI. Not to check grammar, not to "prove" you wrote it yourself. Everything you give them becomes part of their data, even if it's only to "improve their service" or whatever BS they tell you.

All job ads should list the salary. Failure to do so is unethical. It's one of the things Colorado did well: it's the law there. Why does it matter? Money is time, esp if you're disabled, poor, a parent. Making someone jump through hoops to apply to a job that wouldn't even pay their bills is wrong

@alisonstine.bsky.socialSep 23, 2026, 9:40 PM

This is disgusting.
