as for what to do? hairstyle exudes personality, so making it an explicit design choice for the character's important, so it doesn't have a concrete answer. so far, it looks like an undercut which purposefully leaves that part cut - i associate it with someone in vogue, showoff-ish and/or confident

another thing is following a hairline. trace a line across the scalp that follows the curvature, and use that as the root origin for the hairs. using that as a guide for where the hair goes allows you to style i more akin to a real life example.

usually i'd say the space between the ears and the face is too small, so the character looks squished in the side profile, which is what looks weird.

I find the article to be a tiny bit misleading. Though fuck chatgpt and all that ai bs. The guy found a existing algorithm by using chatgpt as a search engine. To me, that is just stupid because search engines are literally right there. The article comes off as vibecoding in the game.
