I've been re-reading the Nemesis novel from #mtg and, wow. This novel holds up really well. Skyrocketing to top 3 status alongside Agents of Artifice and The Brother's War as an all-timer
...we've dialed back on where and how the Fringe trait is used. It's now only for units with truly no other trait (like Neel) or for characters who are especially isolated from society (like hermits and some farmers).
...I discovered that it was creating mechanical unity between thematically unrelated units. The trait system in Unlimited is designed to be _mechanics first_ and _trait minimalist_, both of which were being undermined by giving out the Fringe trait super readily. So, starting in Year 3...
...it also was occasionally used as a faction trait, for characters who were "outside of society" in some meaningful capacity. In Year 2, I wanted to clean up how the trait was being used, so we used it far more often, giving it to anyone who wasn't part of any other faction. But then...
I've seen people asking: what's going on with the Fringe trait? #FFGStaff
It was originally intended to be a catch-all trait for "folks who otherwise wouldn't get a trait," and so appeared on a bunch of random cards in Year 1. However…
Gotta say, it makes me feel so great that during the first hour (at least) since the announcement of the new Covenant faction box for Halo Flashpoint, Mantic's website has basically been dead. Gotta love to see that much excitement for the game line from players
Idle political musing: UBI ultimately wont affect jobs much at all, rather unlock the true humanist reward - usefulness, connectedness and purpose A scant few will never work and … good for them! Feels like yet another level up in civilisation if you ask me—decoupling morality and productivity
He would have (and did) grant it to all your other units #FFGStaff

Livestream day! We gotta wait for the siren to end, but then me and Jack and Aaron are gonna play Eternal :3 #FFGStaff www.youtube.com/live/pLAsPZu...
When a mechanic gets cut, it's common to keep it around on a handful of cards. Retaliate was causing elaborate ability chains and was too punishing to players who wanted to attack enemy units, resulting in noninteractive or complex board states. But a few cards were still worth making! #FFGStaff
The government *still* isn’t tracking how often immigration agents detain U.S. citizens. We are. 500+ Americans have been handcuffed, held at gunpoint or held against their will in Trump’s second term. Our tally is almost certainly an undercount. THREAD (content warning: violence) ⬇️
Hear me out. All police misconduct cases paid out of police pension funds. Because as a citizen I'm really sick of public funds being used to pay these AND having to worry about a cop doing something shitty to me because they have no accountability.
The mainline Pokémon games would be SO much more fun if you were allowed 1 visit to the pokecenter when you first arrive at it and 1 visit after each gym/rival victory, and never any other time
While the set's original Retaliate keyword (get a reward for surviving damage) got cut, the Bad Batch retained the mechanic as a cohesive identity, with Omega as a way to keep the play patterns we liked in the set without overloading HMW with a whole additional new mechanic #FFGStaff
No, but we have discussed it! I would be fascinated to see how they played (my intuition is probably pretty well)
FILMIC LANGUAGE!!!!!!!! ICONOGRAPHICAL NARRATION!!!!!!! SIGNS AND SYMBOLS JUXTAPOSED TO COMMUNICATE COMPLEX IDEAS!!!!!!! MONTAGE AND SIMULACRA!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!
I thought I would like Waiting for Godot but I had no idea how much. Good job Guthrie Theater for producing a banger of a show
You know, if I was gonna open a serialized card from a HMW pack, it might as well be one of my two favorite characters
