In my last #NEARA keynote speech as President, I shared a love letter to all NEA members.

Leading this union has been the honor of my life.

But the future—the power—the responsibility—now rests with you.

So, I need you to move forward, in union together.

Today, I'm thinking about the 5-year-old who got in the car with his father like any other day, then watched him be shot by ICE just feet away. ICE is traumatizing our children. Shooting up our sidewalks makes us all unsafe. Federal agents killing people in the streets is an outrage. ICE out NOW.

The largest labor union in the United States sends solidarity to the students, parents, and educators demonstrating in France. We are with you as you fight for the schools your communities deserve.

Next week ends #HispanicHeritageMonth, but we continue to celebrate our hispanic educators and students every month. Honoring our diverse heritage and culture benefits us all.

Clearly, these students understand: educators' working conditions are students' learning conditions. Everyone is harmed when we don't invest in our schools—and fully funding our schools benefits us all.

What better time than #BannedBooksWeek to find your next story from #ReadAcrossAmerica?

Book bans try to silence diverse voices. Every time we read diverse stories, we push back against that 🫶🏽

I'm joining @eduinternational.bsky.social to celebrate World Teachers' Day, and to say: teacher rights and student rights go hand in hand.

Without empowered teachers, quality education can't exist. We must ensure teachers have respect, dignity, and a meaningful voice in decisions about education.

The status of teachers is not measured in words of appreciation.

This #WorldTeachersDay, call on your government to
📢 invest in teachers
📢 uphold their rights
📢 fully fund public education
📢 fight for #GenderJustice because the majority of teachers are women👏🏾

Instead of helping families make ends meet, the Trump administration is once again putting its thumb on the scale for private school vouchers at the expense of the public schools that serve 90% of America's students.

@neapresident.bsky.socialOct 2, 2026, 1:18 PM

As I said on @wabe.org yesterday, this administration's voucher scheme would hurt rural communities like the one I grew up in. Public education should be the great equalizer—and vouchers are the exact opposite. Listen to my full conversation with Rose Scott.

At a time when educators, students, and families are calling for more resources to strengthen neighborhood public schools—where 90% of students go—the Trump administration is advancing a voucher plan to divert taxpayer dollars to subsidize private education for a select few.

October is Higher Education Month! I am proud to stand beside our higher ed members as they organize for fair pay and benefits, a voice at the table where decisions are made, and the investments they need to do their best for their students.

@neapresident.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 5:20 PM

Every student deserves to go to school knowing they are safe, valued, and protected. For educators, this is fundamental. We should strengthen Title IX—not weaken it. The Department of Education's move to undermine those protections endangers our students, who need them more than ever.

@neapresident.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 2:02 PM

This is a well-deserved win for families and educators. NEA was a plaintiff in this case. By speaking out, we made clear that we will not tolerate the Trump administration flouting the law when it withholds congressionally appropriated funds.

@neapresident.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 12:22 AM

One powerful way to protect your freedom to vote is to use it. Early voting will start soon—and use NEA's tool to make your plan to vote today!

What an honor to join @dianeravitch.bsky.social at the Network for Public Education last week. As we discussed, the movement against our public schools is strong—but it is not in my nature to despair.

We will keep fighting to open doors to opportunity just as the teachers who inspired me did.

A paycheck matters. So do safe classrooms, reasonable workloads, educator voice, and the support needed to do the job well. Across the country, educators are organizing through their unions to improve the working conditions that impact both staff and students every day.

@neapresident.bsky.socialSep 22, 2026, 6:04 PM

As I shared the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference, educators deserve to have all the resources they need—but between inflation and voucher schemes diverting taxpayer dollars, educators are struggling.

@neapresident.bsky.socialSep 22, 2026, 1:07 PM

All of us deserve to be safe in this country. The brave of us stand for justice, human dignity, and in support of immigrant communities. This is part of a troubling pattern by this administration of abusing the rights and dignity of America’s immigrant community.

@neapresident.bsky.socialSep 21, 2026, 7:05 PM

As my parents said, public education is the great equalizer. Last week, I advocated for that vision of education justice on Capitol Hill and beyond, whether at this year's Black Women’s Roundtable Policy Forum or a panel on the dignity of work.

"I want rural schools to know they are important to the National Education Association. We are being very intentional about listening so I can lift them up at the national level, and we can advocate for the resources they need." —Princess Moss, @neapresident.bsky.social
