digging DEEP in my dropbox for old forgotten goodies and found these screenshots I took in 2008/2009 because I got so excited to see ads for my webcomic on other sites because of ComicSpace, literal screenshots of my computer and actual screenshots of a time long long ago...

I think the world/scenario setting matters a bunch! I love it as a story element, but if it was me in a normal-ish people world I think I would be in a similar boat of fighting for humanity/self control back as well!

(4/4) bets on how long he’ll keep himself together?

Panel 1: Noah flops down on the bed smiling in relief
N: I’m not a barghest anymore…oh, Zercie, I could kiss you right now…

Panel 2: Noah looks up as Zercie moves over him, smile fading
Z: I never said you’re not a Barghest.

Panel 3: zercie sitting over him and unclasping his collar as he watches
Z: you always will be. You always were. I just helped wake you up.

Panel 4: Zercie leans in close, smiling at him, holding the collar on a finger. Noah smiles back sheepishly.
Z: from now on you’re in control of your shape. So be careful. If you think barghest, you’ll turn barghest. Anywhere, anytime, any part of you.
N: *gulp* oh…great!

(3/4)

Panel 1: Noah looks at his hands. He’s quite human, spare his ears still having a slight point to them, and a black streak in his blonde hair
N: what do you mean look at my…

Panel 2: close up of his eyes and fingers
N: HANDS?!

Panel 3: Zwecke smiling and sitting up, gazing softly at him as Noah takes it all in, wiggling his thumbs
N: I’m…back to normal…! I-I have thumbs again! And my voice! I can’t believe it… you did say seven days but…
A: I’m proud of you, Noah. You passed with just a little soul burn.

(2/4)

Panel 1: Noah looking down at her confused and sleepy
Noah: ? (Black text bubble)

Panel 2: Noah yawning, his features halfway back to human

Panel 3: a mostly human Noah, still looking at her confused, collar loose around his neck
Z: haha are you still asleep? Look at your hands.

Becoming Barghest 4 The end of the beginning (1/4) Wherein Noah gets his “normal“ back

Noah and Zercie in bed, waking up

Panels 1-3: Zercie’s magic swirls around as Noah’s paw turns back to a hand , zercie’s hand catching it
Zercie: Noah…

Panel 4: Zercie holding his now normal hand as she pets his still barghest head
Z: Good morning.

Panel 5: closeup of Noah’s face, one eye open. We can see the brown coming back to the iris
Z: it’s day seven.
