Tonight I played my first game of Horus Heresy, a 1k game of my Solar Auxilia v Dark Angels. The rules are very complex! It was an Astartes victory, but my little guys gave them hell!

#horusheresy #warhammercommunity #nerdlings #warhammer40k #warhammer #miniatures #30k #solarauxilia

Initial Solar Auxilia deployment using the ruins as cover. Two Lasrifle Sections held the center with the Tactical Command Section. In support was the Veletaris Command Section and Veletaris Vanguard Section.

The Aethon Heavy Sentinels move up to take the first objective and try to suppress the Astartes plasma cannon team.

The Assault Marines and Praetor jump forward to dislodge the Auxilia from the ruins.

The remnants of the Auilia pour on the firepower but fail to destroy the Assault Marines or route the Tactical squad.

I probably should have been told that!! I am very proud that tonight I'm playing my first game of Horus Heresy 3rd edition and I've not ordered anything new for the game. I tend to get all excited about playing and then go way too overboard!! 😂

Yes, well, I'm far more foolish buying things than is good for me. My pile of shame is epic.

Thank you! I so like how the army looks with all its flags on the table.

Thanks! I really like this kit - the helmet crests are brilliant and they paint up fast (other than the flags!).

Another new addition to my Cities of Sigmar, I built this reinforced unit of Freeguild Gallants. Im hoping these guys will make a tough speed bump to shield my gunners and Cogforts.

A reinforced unit of 10 Freeguild Gallants in the yellow and green of my custom City, Hartshorn.

5 Gallants, I could split the reinforced unit into 2 smaller units if needed.

Banner with the antlers and horn heraldry of my City.

Thanks! I agree, the pose on this model and the little details hold up well against modern plastics.

Flashback Friday - taking pics of older bits from my collection. The Kroot Shaper, Anghkor Prok. This metal model was the 2001 Games Day figure, which I purchased at Games Day in Baltimore that year.

Anghkor Prok is a legend among the Kroot, having played a pivotal role in the War of the Place of Union where the Kroot and Tau formed their alliance.

The green base and flock are really a throwback!

I could not justify the full box so I bought this half of the box off a Skaven player.

Thank you!

Not Warhammer Wednesday. This is Morghana, a 32mm resin piece from Studio McVey. It was a limited run of 750 casts, released in 2012.
