Excellent reporting here by @laurengoode.bsky.social.
There’s a subset of people (not only men!) who do not see women as capable of same leadership/ambition/success as men (yep, despite or perhaps bc of people like Trump leading US & Elon being their hero); or view women only thru looks/sex appeal.

Yesterday, we unrolled two more pieces— @laurengoode.bsky.social went in search of the most powerful woman in Silicon Valley, talking to all of the heavy hitters www.wired.com/story/search...

AI models built on rat brain neurons—which are placed on multi-electrode silicon arrays, respond to electrical signals, get translated into code, and are then used to train models—are that much closer to reality. As in, they're now available through AWS www.wired.com/story/ai-mod...
The joke only works, though, because the underlying problem is real.
@laurengoode.bsky.social went looking for the most powerful woman in Silicon Valley–and her journey got complicated, quickly.
This is well worth the read -- what is power, who holds it, how does it get expressed, how does it evolve...or not.
Brava @wired.com on this brilliant edition!! And thank you, @laurengoode.bsky.social 💫
WIRED asked 634 women what they really feel about their tech jobs. Their answers on AI, bias, and workplace culture paint a stark picture: women described being talked down to, mistaken for assistants, underestimated, and facing sexual harassment. www.wired.com/story/women-...
So what *is* WIRED Women? It started as a joke at our weekly happy hour; we laughed at the idea of turning a historically dude-loving publication into a women’s rag—a tongue-in-cheek way to highlight the sorry state of women’s advancement in fields like tech and science.
For our WIRED Women cover, Patti Harrison plays five (well, actually six) of the current masters of the universe—Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos (with Lauren Sánchez Bezos by his side).

Exclusive: A new chip startup called Kepler Computing is coming out of stealth after *7+ years* of development. The think their new approach can help with HBM and SRAM bottlenecks. But, as with all things chipmaking, scale will be one of the biggest challenges www.wired.com/story/a-new-...
“The deal signals Nvidia’s seriousness about being steeped in the software side of generative AI development as well as in infrastructure.” Back in the day we used to call this “vertical integration”
Nvidia just made a $12.9 billion bet on open-source AI www.wired.com/story/nvidia...
