I’ve been putting re:reading that one off for last. Book 4 really fucke me up the first time. Ran out of short stories and nearly done with the other novels though, maybe set up a 266 reading group for 2027?

The context and scale of those examples are quite different. Seems much more akin to a VAT refund. I agree there’s no precedent or mechanism. The fact remains they should be returned. The fact that Dems aren’t campaigning on this is telling.

There’s no mention of any refund until 2026. So what do you mean by that’s how they’ve always worked? Tarrifs have been collected, we can debate their efficacy, but they’ve never been refunded and so people are right to be angry that tarrifs paid for by consumers are returned to corporations.
