That said even in your case of making tools by utilizing LLMs... Do you respect the work of the people who made the libraries it scraped to inform your code? Are you okay with your own work being obfuscated and replaced once your tools have been scraped? I'm curious what your comfortable limit is.

I'm not planning to get into the weeds about tools made using LLMs as programming guides. There's a nuanced discussion to be had about that elsewhere. I would say that's different than "chapt bbd make my model android compatible." The lack of intent, possible theft, and risk of spam is way higher.

Hard to respect your nuanced take when it involves pretending optimization, and the idea of tech art in general, is somehow lesser than the visual art. LLMs stealing from GitHub isn't inherently better than midjourney stealing from ArtStation If it's generated it's genAI

This was a big part of my feedback in general so I imagine it's going to be a big piece of whatever the VRC team's followup is. Neural rigging and auto retopology are similar cases of "not llm/diffusion models doing generative AI," but being dev tools it's hard to say for sure without a name drop.

The ai stuff upsets me but it's but the reason the experience itself is bad. It's sorta a problem with a lot of ux now. It's designed to elongate your "active" time in the app

Legitimately fuck duolingo I maintained my streak kinda to prove to myself I could be accountable for something long-term, and wasn't paying for it But God it's insufferable, with UX that actively makes me loathe learning, and that's ignoring the other problems.
