pretty sure auto will let you auto-spend rings when collecting em so you can hold items without as much speed loss, whereas manual is like normal where you can use rings freely to keep your speed during drifts n such, theres probably a lot of extra balancing between both that we’re not aware of yet

kinda thought of maybe setting up a kofi soon if anyone is interested, it’s been somethin I’ve debated for a while but moving expenses were kinda rough and it’d help ease some of it

I just hope I can get a second wave put together before the new update eventually drops and pulls me back into the mines for a month or two and no spriting gets done

AM2R makes really awful use of its screen real estate (especially in bosses) despite having so much to work with, and samus returns is alright but the original game’s format is made much worse with the forced upgrade-based progression of more modern titles+metroid fights way overstay their welcome

if AM2R has no haters it means I’m dead in the ground, I’m not a fan of 3DS samus returns but AM2R makes me upset to think about

‪the 3ds version? bloated, padded with upgrades that barely get used, Metroid fights way overstay their welcome, and the environment is so forcefully designed to hinder your spider ball‬ ‪meanwhile the OG is short, sweet and has immaculate vibes, and is so impressive for a GB title‬

I genuinely unironically believe Metroid 2 (the gameboy version) is up there with prime 1 and dread for the best Metroid games ever made
