We will indeed have the excellent @janetbufton.ca with us on Liberal Currents Live at the top of the hour to take a hard look at libertarianism. It'll stream free on YouTube and Twitch: www.liberalcurrents.com/liberal-curr...
I'm not sure I've seen Walter Block look that young before.
I'm looking forward to this in a bit less than an hour (1 p.m. ET).
I missed this! Good luck!
Whatever, though. I don't want to have to do a seek and find to follow what's going on in a flyer. I'm comfortable with being the old one here.
AI posters make me feel about static visual presentation of information the way I did when the emphasis was on creating short (<5 min) videos and Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan were putting out like 4 hour long videos that blew all the short ones out of the water.
Can't get numb to this: itâs still absolutely shocking, if totally unsurprising, that Trump is actively helping Russia and harming Ukraine.
FT exclusive: The US has proposed that European countries unfreeze some Russian sovereign assets immobilised after Moscowâs invasion of Ukraine and transfer them to a vehicle overseen by Washington in an attempt to revive peace talks www.ft.com/content/5435...
So you're saying if there's one photo to sum up the Trump era, this is it.
i am deeply frustrated by this market that is not even capitalism, where companies who will forever lose money can claim exorbitant valuations based on the opinions of their friends. we need far more ruthlessness.
I'm not a neocon and if a country substantially disarms because you guarantee its integrity and you ever want another country to consider disarming again you do not pull military support when they're invaded.
This is a great analysis of whatâs gone wrong with libertarianism. I think it especially gets right the way scientific racism took over the coalition. I thought that a lot of libertarians were just ignorant of the reality of racism. I was wrong. A lot of people are looking for reasons to justify it.
This seems both wrong and unrealistic. People are political, they don't stop being political because they're famous. We're mostly fine with it when it's for a cause we believe in, while it becomes political (derogatory) when we're annoyed. (As someone points out downthread, he is being political.)
Thatâs⊠the point of tariffs. Thatâs how theyâre supposed to work. And one more reason there was a broad pre-Trump consensus theyâre usually a bad idea.
People often think of racism as bad words and separate water fountains. My Dad and his siblings grew up when the Klan marched thru Black neighborhoods in Indiana. Not all racism is violence, but unchecked, racism will invariably lead to violence.
I havenât forgotten about them. In my 20s, I got flyers on my car about âmud peopleâ and learned their tattoos and where not to go. I know theyâre at the gun range the same time I am, but hope the other POC on the line give them pause.
A thing conservatives used to understand is that âvirtue signallingâ is in fact an essential social function. It CAN be frivolous & self-indulgent, but you do actually need people to conspicuously perform adherence to good social norms.
Trading? Making? How degrading. Taking and having is where it's at.
It's much easier to motivate yourself to do something for you out of the goodness of your heart than some random butcher.
Jesus. I hadnât even thought about this. This footage is absolutely going to become a memeâthe first US government snuff film to be streamed to everyoneâs pockets
