My 2nd novel 1983 was a joy to write & a disaster to publish, during the death rattle of my ex-publisher, which also almost killed the book. Thankfully it's been republished. I've taken the paywall off this extract in the hope it might help with its resuscitation: tomcox.substack.com/p/the-dont-m...

Trad pub professionals ARE allowed to unionize and many have been trying to do so. We should all be showing them solidarity in their fight, because it’s frankly a fight for the soul of the industry.

We're writing the first Willerby novella. It began with the Fields Parts 1 and 2 and it'll go on from there. It involves characters and events from Shortcuts, Ghostspotting and the Willerby Sonics. Read these if you want to be ready for the next installments..
