I actually have a working setup that is “just” tranquil (+Steam SSO, +Steam Datagram Relay for holepunching), a gateway, and a Steam Game for initial set up, 😊 Lots of vibed atm, but I want to break into useful, carefully considered PRs to Tranquil & a steam app. Interesting/useful?
@byjp.meVague post unintended 😅 It’s a PDS for Steam Machines, inspired by @bmann.ca. You sign up/in with your steam account, because that makes it ~zero setup.
…But now I have to build “oh, but if you want to access Bluesky, you’ll need to set a password”, which adds significant extra friction.
@byjp.meAn interesting aside I bumped into: I’m experimenting with building a PDS for which it’s convenient to only have SSO sign in. The only app a user *can’t* use is Bluesky.

@byjp.meI’m not quite sure I follow; are you saying it’s not that Flashes is missing anything as an app, but that it’s using the wrong data container? I figure it’s similar to how insta posts appear on Threads & vice versa, but I’ve not used Meta stuff for 3 years, it could be very different by now 😅

@byjp.meIf you’re on iOS then the Orion browser lets you install desktop extensions for both Firefox and Chrime 😊 It’s not perfect (and I fully agree with the base premise that having to work around shittifying sites is fucking annoying at *best*) but it’s at least possible!
