You should let Max nerd-snipe you with his deep dive on GTA's maps. It's excellent: www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0i-...
My first boss repeatedly wrote, "Why do I care?" across all my briefs. So often I can still vividly visualize the handwriting as it escalated.
This is my number one issue any time I'm chatting with a rationalist: if someone has to read 5,000 words to understand your argument, you have not just lost the argument. You never even started it. Always, the response I get is: it's everyone's job to read the facts. 🫠
> Iteration (culture) is eating planning (strategy) for lunch. Agree, but the hard thing and new skill is recognizing when something does require strategy as you're passing by it. It's rare, but that makes spotting it harder.

Maybe we should let AI work on this research, what could go wrong? www.sciencealert.com/a-new-super-...

@lopatto.bsky.social should file a CCPA request and see how it goes. I have no idea how it would work with Muse/Bot/Dot.
New context failure mode: Context Inertia 🚂
During long-horizon tasks, persistent models can hyper-focus. The solve? Throw out your context. www.dbreunig.com/2026/10/14/c...
Putting a name on this one, cause I'm seeing it everywhere: “Context Inertia” is the context failure mode of the moment.

Especially when they're used across different contexts (work, clients, personal life). How do they think Dots (or Bot or Muse) will perform for generalist users after 6 months of heavy usage? A year? What are the challenges they expect to hit and how are they thinking about them?
I've used several general agents like Dots, for over 6 months. Hermes, etc. The issue all of them run into is they store state and notes in Skills, memory, and other natural language files. Assumptions by the model corrupt behavior and these texts rot, requiring maintenance.
Small DSPy bump with a new GEPA proposer (add instructions, set length limits, compact traces), DSPy in RLM subagents, and plenty of bug fixes and 1st time contributors: github.com/stanfordnlp/...
Essential reading, Terence Tao on Math 2.0: teorth.github.io/tao-web/slid...
I think that’s why I enjoy Mastodon most. It’s tiny. You run out of posts to read. It’s mundane. Feels like the old web.
My current must-reads on AI, not from a technical perspective, but from a cultural and personal perspective: Brian Eno: Experience building autonomous systems then disturbing them lends itself well to this moment. Terrance Tao: Incredibly thoughtful on how AI is changing math. Pope Leo: 🤷
If you live in the Bay Area and haven't taken the trip to Angel Island, I highly recommend it.
Great write up on the controlled burns on Angel Island last month, covering the complicated logistics and the benefits. baynature.org/2026/10/08/c...
