Just weeks after Congress gave Trump more tariff power under the guise of sanctions on Russia, he reminds us of just how little he can be trusted. Instead of ending his disastrous war that has sent your costs soaring, Trump is opening the door for the U.S. to bankroll Putin's war machine.
My full statement on this:
No matter how many times Trump tries to put his thumb on the scale, Fed independence isn't up for debate. By creating this committee, he is wasting resources and time on a debunked fishing expedition that should instead be spent making your life easier.
Trump cannot simply bypass Congressionally authorized funding for lifesaving research. Democrats will keep fighting to restore it and put a stop to Trump’s public health assault.
The Trump Administration’s attacks on health research are an affront to public health & are blatantly unlawful. Of the 150+ grants they illegally withheld, 16 were headed to Massachusetts. That was funding for expecting & new mothers, patients with chronic illnesses, & future medical researchers.
[email protected] stated it plainly: “Every percentage point increase in average tariffs, consumer goods prices increase by about a quarter of a percent after one year.” The result of Trump’s policies are crystal clear: higher prices for workers and families across the board.
It’s staggering how rampant this level of corruption and pay-to-play scheming has become in the Trump administration. It comes from the top: Trump bends the rules for his taxes and now, for the right price, his wealthy donors get special treatment when it comes to theirs?
It's clear the Trump Administration will stop at nothing if it means giving the ultra wealthy even more of a leg up.
The potential cost of their latest maneuver around Congress? Over $150 billion.

My full statement on this months jobs report here:
Today’s jobs report shows why nearly three-quarters of Americans reject Trump’s economy: 🔴 Fewer opportunities 🔴 Higher prices 🔴 Paychecks that can’t keep up It's clear Republicans have no intention of stopping Trump & his friends from enriching themselves at your expense for as long as they can.
More here:
The contrast couldn’t be clearer: while Trump is using tax dollars to promote himself on TV, he’s taking more resources away from communities that need them. Congress approved this funding, and denying these funds from the American people is a blatant attack on Congress’s constitutional powers.
These taxpayer-funded ads do nothing to serve you. They only serve Trump. This is yet another example of how Trump is again ripping off the American people and elevating himself all on the taxpayers’ dime.
Trump’s Administration has repeatedly failed to keep your data safe. Now, this decision lets Trump use your SSA data for something it was never meant to do: verify voter eligibility. Your data should be protected, not misused as a tool in Trump’s voter suppression agenda.
The American people have a right to know the truth about their government and members of the press have a right to report it. Trump just showed us the extreme lengths he will go to thwart that. That isn’t the hallmark of a courageous leader, it’s cowardice and un-American.

As if making coverage harder to access through skyrocketing premiums and more red tape wasn’t painful enough, Republicans are doubling down to take it away entirely. It’s clear that Trump is perfectly okay with that, as long as those at the top can keep cashing in.
Read my letter with Rep. John Larson and Rep. Danny Davis:
Social Security Commissioner Bisignano told Congress he has “the right amount of staff.” Meanwhile, field offices are described as “ghost offices” & record-low morale has created the worst staffing crisis in SSA’s history. His failure to respond after 3 months leaves serious questions unanswered.
The Kennedy Center is a beacon of performing arts & a memorial to one of our greatest presidents. Demolishing it would be illegal & un-American. Imagine a president adding their name to the Washington Monument or Lincoln Memorial. Only weak leaders grift their names onto the legacies of great ones.
