From my journal this time last year after I got my vaccines (which I’m currently waiting for now): As I waited I emailed TSC adjacent councillors about the BS that staff are waiting on some heat mapping software to decide what to do next.

I only saw any of this was happening via my scraping. No idea if they even posted/etc anywhere.
It’s these! They are spendy and a bit bulky but I could not get by without them. About to have my third winter with them.
Found it on Hollis! Makes sense
Thanks! And hope they feel better.
@twogoblinsinacoat.bsky.social I waved to you on Vernon today! Do you recall if my sign was with me at that time or not?
It seems my bike good mayor bad sign blew off my bike during my peninsula #BikeHfx ride earlier. If you find it let me know! You can keep it if you want, just trying to not litter 😅
There are some Morris / Peninsula South #BikeHfx pop-up sessions coming up (or happening right now):
Oct 7, 11:30 - 1, VG cafeteria
Oct 8, 11:30 - 1, Dal Sexton Campus Field, near B-Building
Oct 10, 9:30 - 11, Central Library Lobby
It is infuriating. I keep meaning to review updates to this “strategy” because I’m pretty sure at the start and a few other times (such as now) they stalled by saying they were waiting for some new software/database/etc
Both @bikehfxlobby.bsky.social and I have gotten comments about what we wear when riding during rain/cold, as if it’s special. I’d be wearing the same stuff if I was walking, minus my helmet.
There are a handful of days per year in Halifax that cycling is truly impractical. The rest are up to @hfxgov.bsky.social and, unfortunately, @nsgov.bsky.social more and more.
I say this as someone who gets cold very easily. I use heated gloves when it gets below 0 or so.
Love it. I have still never had a bad sign interaction but people are definitely saying they like it or asking about it more lately as news of the mayor’s badness spreads.
It is most definitely possible, at least Paris is doing it too. Guessing automated stuff like that would require further MVA (or soon to be TSA) changes/regs. And we heard recently that automated speed/light enforcement is still year(s) away.
I think the only real avenue for enforcement at the moment is via the noise bylaw, around "unreasonably disturbing the neighbourhood." But that's probably only for more stationary things. For moving vehicles, HRP/RCMP have refused to get the noise measuring equipment and training they need.
It’s my understanding the MVA as it is now has everything needed. HRP/RCMP just don’t want to do it.
"Senior leadership from RCMP HRD and HRP do not support implementing a new by-law or using decibel measurement devices due to operational and financial concerns."
We were lucky to see him at the Syrup Factory in January where he played a number of the new tunes. And that one about the robots
Thanks to the planter of the Romans and Bayers/102 MUP flowers. The big sunflowers just popped open this week!
Only a couple! I have “hell or high water” and @bikehfxlobby.bsky.social has the infamous Almon engagement.
Just happened to see this mentioned in my journal from two years ago.
Two years ago today. #BikeHfx
