🌱 #sixonSaturday from my tiny garden. The first picture shows a view of my tiny garden from an upstairs window. It is one of my happy places. The seasons are changing and we have had some welcome rain.
Michaelmas daisy is the common name. The botanical names include Aster, Symphyotrichon and Eurybia
A former colleague once said to me, “They’re Sedum, end of!”
I don’t knit in public (not confident enough) but often crochet on the Tube and get very interested glances.
Most are Symphyotrichum but there are also Eurybia and some are still Asters. It might be a persecution complex but it seems that as I learn a plant name, the botanists change it to something complicated. For example Sedums…………….

I hope you enjoy this short video of Wisley’s Equinox borders at their peak now, full of what used to be called Asters.
❤️ Matt! Miss him @Wisley
Much nearer Wisley!
Beautiful!
I am visiting Sheffield Park on the 17th with the RHS Gardens Club. Looking forward to it.

A beautiful pink Zinnia for you this morning. If you look closely, there is a tiny fly on the petals. I have zoomed in on the second picture so you can see it clearly.
I have a friend coming for lunch. She is the only person on the planet that has known me all my life!
Me too!
🌱 #roseWednesday
A rose called ‘Golden Smiles’ for you on a very wet (but very welcome) rainy Wednesday. I’m luckily not doing a tour today and can stay at home, dry and warm.
Good advice!
I’m so happy to hear that! Sending big hugs to Bowie.

Another of the characterful trees in Hyde Park. We are so lucky to have free access to wonderful open spaces in the middle of London. @theroyalparks.bsky.social
I am off to do a tour at Wisley this morning.
Hope all goes well!
Just cancelled my membership.
Happy to be listed as a contributor.
