Second Time Around - The Mighty Lemon Drops
Time’s flaws can be rewritten.

Bee Thousand is definitely one where hearing it on vinyl as two distinct sides was a revelation. Alien Lanes still feels like a CD album for me.
A lot of it’s down to which one you heard first. Alien Lanes wasn’t my first exactly (Mag Earwhig maybe?) but it was the first where the whole thing clicked. It was religious. If Bee Thousand had been in that moment, it might have been that one for me.
Actually, I think what I mean is that Alien Lanes is better but Vampire On Titus is closer to my artistic personality.
II’m Team Alien Lanes in terms of my favourite. The sheer bang-bang-bang-bang-bang of huge tunes and wild ideas is intoxicating. But Vampire is a slower sort of inspiration for me, and something I reach for sooner for my own creative efforts. It’s a more quietly perfect record in that idiom, maybe.
This is surely by design. The "rich Chinese" thing is useful propaganda but the nature of reactionary politics is to kick down and the nature of LDP politics is to protect the construction and real estate industries. The only purpose of these policies is to performatively hurt insignificant people.
Gonna launch a copyright infringement lawsuit at those reactionary fucks (the straight pride ones, not the wonderful people of Brittany).

Do You Remember The First Time? - Pulp
Time is desperate yearning.

Yeah, exactly. It's not that incidents of active hostility have noticeably increased so much as a general chill to the atmosphere. A tightening of the chest. The knowledge that X% of the people you see around you in the streets silently agree with what Kamiya's saying.
Daily life in Tokyo’s just the same as it always was, at least in the Socialist People’s Republic of Suginami Ward, but i feel Sanseito’s existence and the constant drip drip drip of smug cruelty from Takaichi and Onoda in the media makes it less easy to dismiss the odd bit of racism as a one-off.
The *same people* who pestered you and freaked out about an individual pixel, are now just happily signing off on awful shit riddled with errors and a weird amount of writhing bugs Whoever signed off on this Sam's Club stuff, definitely made an artist's life hell simply because they got off on it.
And once again: every actual artist has stories about being hounded and pestered and micromanaged over individual pixels, by the very same people who ship absolute fucking slop that can't even spell the company's name right and which makes all the food look like it's made of bugs and worms etc.
Un piss soir.
Thank you! Even at our silliest, we always try to approach each song with our hearts sincere. Though admittedly the needle does vary song to song (and that one sort of burst out of our hearts fully formed before our brains even had a chance to chip away at it with irony).
