There’s no obvious reason why that story would have been pulled. Interesting too that the Mail’s diary story on Gove and Salem splitting appeared three days after her court appearance. Almost like someone resembling Michael Gove wearing a fake moustache sent in that tip.

It is very interesting that the Mail’s story on Michael Gove’s recent ex-girlfriend being charged with CSAM offences has been memoryholed two days after it was published. Public records show she appeared at Oxford Combined Court centre on September 30 and pleaded not guilty.

No post #Freakzone listening tonight as my new job necessitates an early rise so pre FZ wax it is. There's been a fair bit of talk about this fab '02 comp from @andylewis.bsky.social today. All praise fully warranted. Have a great week fellow travellers. Peace.x #VinylCommunity #Vinylsky #NowPlaying

You weren’t alone in not buying it, that’s for sure

@andylewis.bsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 5:49 PM

Ahh. Shame. Billy Ocean’s all right though.

The original comp I did is long out of print, so I approve of this wholesomely. Shame neither the Exotics nor Masqueraders versions of I Don’t Want Nobody To Lead Me On are up there. Amazed that Bob Miller’s daft Mighty Quinn is. Anyway, bravo Séamus for breathing new life into this selection

My copy of Dana Gillespie And Er Orse. One of the best albums in the history of music. Rarer than an adequate metaphor until a RSD reissue and subsequent upload to the streaming service of your choice made it rightly accessible to all. A Sunday afternoon favourite.

Dana Gillespie, a horse, a tree. A bloody good album. Foolish Seasons it’s called.

It was you who bought it! Thank you!!!

- and a version of Paperback Writer that starts off sounding like it’s going to be a version by Pentangle before Hank M fires his strat up. Some cool Mellotron stuff going on too.

Morning listening. It’s like one of those cool library albums that go for £££ but it’s The Shadows (plus Alan Hawkshaw (I think) on keyboards) so it turns up for a quid in charity shops. Fantastic “funky” reworkings of popular hits including a belting River Deep Mountain High -

Shades Of Rock by The Shadows. A comedy rocker on a brand new (for 1970) BSA motorcycle slouches against his machine ‘avin a fag

They slept on special sheets that were connected to an electrical earth to “ground” them at night. I have (for reasons) done my own research into those sheets, and the only thing they’re good for is parting the gullible from their money.

I was working long days in Germany and desperately trying to keep in touch with people back in the UK. Couldn't log into emails or messages when I went to bed. No amount of pleading with my hosts would convince them to leave the wifi on for me. Something about radiation poisoning at night.

- Facebook "memories" are bloody brutal. The algorithm doesn't know, can't know, when it displays photos from your library what emotions it will release. It's one of the reasons why I hardly ever go on Facebook any more.

@andylewis.bsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 8:33 AM

According to Facebook "memories", 8 years ago today I was doing a mastering session (by the look of the computer screen) at the now defunct Rimshot Studios in Kent. I miss that place. I miss Mike Thorne the engineer and owner more. I learned so much working with him over ten incredible years. -

My hand reaches out to adjust the high end EQ of an EAR mastering equaliser, which sits in an equipment rack in a recording studio. Next to it is the remote control for a reel to reel tape recorder that's elsewhere in the building. Below it are a pair of EAR mastering limiters and something with a load of knobs on which I never got to the bottom of. A view across the mixing console of the recording studio. A computer monitor is in the middle displaying a mastering session in ProTools. There are loudspeakers on the left and right. In the background of the picture is the window into the enormous live room of the studio, the roof space of which is illuminated by purple and yellow lights. It's early morning by the look of the daylight coming through the window you can just about make out.

This is a good 'un

@andylewis.bsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 7:32 AM

Agree wholesomely.

You are no doubt aware of the link between broiler chicken and Reform-adjacent politics. A quick google of the name Anthony Fisher will reveal all if you don't.
