Our porch was broken into and a bike stolen. It was locked, they broke the window to get in.
A lot of the bike thefts in my corner are from inside locked garages, sheds, and porches. I think the only thing that's saved mine is it's so weird (they left it when they took @wiredferret.bsky.social's)

I hadn't ridden 9 Mile Creek Regional Trail before, and it's just as delightful as the other Three Rivers trails.

I couldn't figure out what it reminded me of, and then I got it! There's this gorgeous forest walkway at Kirstenbosch called Boomslang.

Today on my ride I saw: Albino squirrel Bald eagle Canada goose Blue jay Cardinal Red squirrel? Milkweed poofs Sunflowers And also, as usual, I never regret carrying a tiny kite in my bike bag.

My legs, driving a tadpole trike with reflective fenders. The path ahead is smooth and autumnal.A pink and blue airfoil kite flying over a soccer field.A lovely boardwalk-style elevated path with secure fencing on each side. There are trees around it, turning fall colors, and the sky is the white of near-sunset.

I live nearby and this is what I'm seeing from a parking lot away right now. Power has been cut to the entire block. Firefighters are focusing, from my vantage point, exclusively on the old Dollar Plus storefront, at the far end of the building.

The biggest shift in the series came in 2021, when CDC changed the answer choices and moved the survey from spring to fall. Among 9th graders, 85% identified as heterosexual in 2019, 73% in 2021 and 2023, and 80% in 2025. About half of the 2021 drop went to options that did not exist before.

I reanalyzed the CDC data behind the LGB “free fall” headline. It rests on a change in bisexual identification among one grade, in one wave, of one survey. Gay or lesbian identification did not change significantly. Calling it a "free fall" is sensational and just gives bad actors talking points.

Six small line charts showing the percent of U.S. high school students choosing each sexual identity response option by grade (9th to 12th), 2015 to 2025, with 95% confidence intervals. Heterosexual falls from about 85 to 90 percent before 2021 to about 73 percent in 2021 and 2023, then rises to about 78 to 80 percent in 2025. Gay or lesbian stays between about 2 and 5 percent throughout. Bisexual rises to about 12 percent in 2021 in every grade, then among 9th graders falls to about 7 percent in 2025, its 2019 level, while other grades stay near 10 percent. “Some other way,” added in 2021, falls from about 4 percent to about 2.5 percent. “Not sure” stays near 3 to 5 percent. A dotted line marks 2021, when CDC changed the response options.

Young teenagers are less likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual than a few years ago, according to a new analysis. “It really does look like a free fall,” Jean Twenge, a professor of psychology, said. “But what’s causing it is unclear.”
