NISAR satellite passed over 9 October 2026 magnitude 7.7 earthquake in Azuero Peninsula of Panama about 6 hours after. Maps below are from slant-range and along-track offsets in Urgent Response geocoded offset (GOFF). Fault ruptured to surface, and surface displacements were measured well by GOFF.

Map of along-track offsets shown with colors varying from -1 to +3 meters of displacement in the south-southwest direction of the satellite track for NISAR track D141.Map of slant-range offsets shown with colors varying from -4 to +4 meters of displacement in the radar line-of-sight direction for the satellite track for NISAR track D141 (down and east-southest).

Awesome! I have a similar one about the world's largest rivers and the tallest mountains (with some very big omissions)

This is good advice for prospective PhD students. I'm getting a ton of emails that are heavily written by AI. If you can show that you've actually read some of the research yourself and have a few original thoughts about it you'll definitely stand out.

Another massive flood caused by a landslide in Nepal - this one in the Budhi Gandaki valley. No decent cloud-free imagery from @planet.com yet but this is from @esa.int Sentinel2.

🇨🇦 In light of the impending referendum Oct. 19, I will post one of my Alberta landscape paintings each day hoping it reminds you how foundational Alberta's natural heritage is to our identities as Albertans and Canadians. Please vote! 1) "On Guard" (watercolour, 42 x 15", private collection) 1/3

Watercolour painting by Jennifer Annesley of Cascade Peak just outside the town of Banff. Colours range from sky blue to pale pinks and golds in the clouds and snow, deep black and burnt orange in the rock faces and trees.

The Quebec election was yet another example of the flaws inherent in our first past the post system, one that rewards division and creates false majorities.

Mark Carney should fix them. #cdnpoli

They preach "Alberta First" while promising the Americans our water, oil, and land. I joined Edmonton's Mayor Andrew Knack on CBC's Power & Politics to call out the hypocrisy of the Alberta separatist movement. You don’t defend Alberta by putting our province up for sale to the United States.
