@theamynicholson.bsky.socialDouble nope!
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialWHALEFALL is a heart-tugger tangled in a survival tale — or, arguably, a biologically accurate spin on PINOCCHIO.
It'd be nice to see more of the whale attack but we feel the terror of a whammy of sonar and the velocity that hurls a man from the mouth to the throat.
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialThe best ghost story? SPIRITED AWAY has gotta be up there.
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialHello my twin!
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialPrankster vs huckster.
The biggest strike against Holmes is this great doc’s very existence.
Who on Earth would genuinely want Fielder, the human equivalent of a skunk, to crash their last moments with their family as he does his darnedest to stink up the place?
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialThe movie’s problems go beyond arriving simultaneously too slowly and too soon for Zuckerberg’s endgame, where his emptying social media empire has him gambling his fortunes (and ours) on AI.
@theamynicholson.bsky.social@theamynicholson.bsky.socialSpooky season starts *now* talking HEREDITARY with A24 scholar @davidehrlich.bsky.social on a special episode of Unspooled
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialChris Rock’s compelling tragicomedy opens with a montage of LA that’s as intimate as an X-ray of a tumor. The city is sick, but we’re seeing it through the lens of someone who respects it anyway.
It's JACKIE BROWN-lite, but like Tarantino, he anoints a great star
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialJustice for DIGGER.
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialTom Cruise has dangled from cliffs, skyscrapers and planes, but oil magnate Digger Rockwell is his riskiest role in eons.
He opens DIGGER lounging in a bed soaked with cat pee, tempting an elderly feline named Maggie to lick wet chow from his gnarled pinkie nail.
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialIt's all happening.
Uncool people getting to talk ALMOST FAMOUS.
Ok, ok @sepinwall.bsky.social is part of the uncool in the coolest way
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialShot in grainy pixels and fuzzy pastels with a full-tilt Pattinson lurching around, face powdered to look like WEAPONS' Aunt Gladys, PRIMETIME is TO CATCH A PREDATOR through a fun house mirror — or maybe a mirror in the carnival’s port-a-potty behind the fun house
@theamynicholson.bsky.social😻😻😻
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialPeter Farrelly has a fighting chance of getting nominated for an Oscar again.
And you've gotta see Julianne Moore play the worst actress in New Jersey.
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialYou should! We befriended each other on Facebook back in the day -- a fellow Gemini
@theamynicholson.bsky.social(I own it too!)
@willharrisinva.bsky.socialReposted by @theamynicholson.bsky.socialExtremely recommended: this week's episode of UNSPOOLED, in which @theamynicholson.bsky.social and past Letting Them Talk guest @julieklausner.bsky.social discuss one of my all-time favorite bizarro flicks, BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS...and, yes, of *course* I own the Criterion edition Blu-ray!
@theamynicholson.bsky.socialThis is Unspooled's special guest episode with Julie Klausner and it freaks me out!
@theamynicholson.bsky.social😭🤩😭🤩😭🤩😭🤩
