The National Post recently crossed a dangerous line by publishing call for violence against Canada's federal NDP leader.

"Avi Lewis is not the threat that needs to be dealt with, Postmedia is."

NEW from @smohyeddin.bsky.social who breaks it all down:

"You selflessly put yourselves to the side for this cause, and that's something most people wouldn't do. For that, I applaud you. You should be proud of yourselves," she says to Kalicum and Nyx. "You put your lives on hold for many valuable years, and I can see this process has is worn you down."

and there was no real avenue for DULF to get approved to operate legally through s. 56 of the CDSA. she finds s. 7 of the charter was violated and that declaring s. 5(2) of the CDSA is unconstitutional.

BREAKING: Jeremy Kalicum and Eris Nyx's charges are being thrown out. she said they did a public service "at considerable personal cost."

DULF ruling is today. Monumental, as it could rule the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act unconstitutional. Aka drug prohibition aka the thing that killed 57,509 people in Canada in the last ten years. Incredible investigation here, consider supporting De Facto! ⬇️

I thought for sure that Carney would use this case as an excuse to push Bill C-22, but this story shows that surveillance bill wouldn't have made a difference. OpenAI already had the capability to track and then report this, and just... didn't. "Cops need lawful access to keep us safe" is bullshit.

Carney’s legislative agenda is abundantly clear: make Canada as investor and big business friendly as he possibly can with zero regard for anything else. Nothing is sacred if it stands in the way of a (even possible!) short term fiscal bump. What Canada will we be left with when Carney is done?

Whether or not it’s explicit in their minds, either way it’s abuser behaviour

Vancouver police sabotaging BC’s drug decriminalization pilot is also infuriating because people’s odds of experiencing an overdose TRIPLED after having their drugs confiscated. People likely died because of this shady political manoeuvring by VPD.

I keep seeing articles about men worrying they won't pass on their genes, and I don't understand why the media won't tell the plain truth: as a man hoping to sire children, the most important thing to do is artfully assemble a bower and surround it with a collection of startlingly blue objects.
