Dan Quinn and Cam Skattebo in deep thought over a game of chess. One of them is making horsey noises with the pieces, but not the knight, which is lodged in the other's throat. Also they're using a game board from Candyland. The game ends in a tie.
I typed this player's name in a chat with @cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.com and at first he thought it was Artificial Intelligence Simmons
How the hell did he hit that pitch at all, let alone for a homer

We have a six-way battle to break TWO all-time MLB records in 2027! Hanser Alberto holds the records for pitching appearances (14) and innings (14) by a true position player. Six players could surpass both records next season:
I think we both know the answer to this
This is a biography Ron Swanson would approve of, except it should be in America instead of Canada, and it gives too much information.
Correct. Making a big deal of this stuff is like analyzing a team's win-loss record in spring training.
Can we all calm down about MLB's schedule "proposal?" If it was a real proposal, it would be 400 pages and cover a lot more than a reporter could fit in a tweet. This is a PR stunt, nothing more. It's meaningless.
That's kinda fascinating to dig into the generational trauma of emotional abuse passed down from Steinbrenner to Steinbrenner, and how it affects the team. But ultimately they're billionaires. The rest of us get over our shit and handle our business every day. They can too.
Yes, and the Opening Day 3B will be McMahon. The Yankees are fixable, but that doesn't mean they'll be fixed.
The Yankees are fixable. 1)They have 8 SP who belong in a rotation, + Lagrange makes 9. Trade 2 of Warren, Weathers, Schmidt, & Elmer for 2B, 3B, and RHH C. 2)Get a manager who is less accepting of failure and doesn't let players FA without FO. That's working pretty well across the river for NYG.
These are not feel-good stories
The advantage didn't fade; it was acquiesced.
The Yankees used to be baseball's valedictorians, until somewhere along the way, they became content with a B+.
This miserable, hole-riddled patchjob of a lineup that Cashman cobbles together every year deserves this unceremonious exit.
Everything Smoltz says is somehow more wrong than the last thing he said

My daughter's middle school is having a fundraiser, and AI glasses are one of the prizes. This is not okay.
