I dont think the slop on VRC is thriving because of some enormous slop-fanbase of techno-philistines out there (If anything because they don't do VR). Nor is there such an endless thirst for (disappointing) atrocity tourism when the atrocity isn't novel anymore. So that leaves exploits.

The solution here is precision as is often the case. Slop exists only to exploit and exploitation necessarily follows the path of least resistance. Make the path more resistive to exploitation, and the slop becomes less economical to make.

And no, it’s not entirely because of Creator Economy. This exploitation pathway was being used for Patreon billboard worlds before CE was even announced.

Seriously don't harass staff, most of them are right there with us. AI slop thrives on exploits, human (ignorance) and machine (design flaws) alike. The problem is that gen AI has enabled an existing, hard to fix visibility-exploitation path to become a superhighway of slop.
