the first trailer for this movie, the one that hit so hard and had the choral version of "creep" under it, was 1000% more about the experience of being on facebook than the movie was
oh my god I was going to joke "he's actually centre-left" and turns out he IS
Anne Carson’s lovely piece, “Merry Christmas from Hegel.” It has it all: Hegelian speculative thought, snow standing, grief, and the sudden experience of peace "at the very core of the care of snow."
New economics term: Total Larry Ellison Risk.
This is the funniest thing I've seen today, possibly ever
I've gone back and forth on this idea alot, but I think I have come around to thinking it's good policy. Financial support for journalism is strongly in the public and state interest. I hope this leads to some momentum here in MA.

Thank you Jeremy!! Definitely many more convos to come on these structures and how they’ll evolve. But it’s fantastic to have live experiments.
Thank you Meredith - but now I’m hungry and want everybody else to enjoy it too!!
Good from @mattdpearce.com. My read on this bill is it's calibrated to address the tension between public investment and the downsides of government subsidy (i.e. strings).
Detractors will ask why invest in a failing business, but news is a public good and a vacuum left by dying news orgs is worse.
