I’m in DC scheduled to give this talk today. But the organizers flagged slides in my deck that mention racism, structural gaslighting, New Jim Code and other themes that are off limits in the Land of the Free.

These questions are specious but more importantly beside the point of the algorithmic governmentality that the AI Industry requires for its total entrenchment. Industry fused with the state —whether SpaceX or Palantir etc—is the objective.

The proposition of sentience or intelligence is part of the AI Industry’s agnotology gambit. Just as Big Tobacco funded red herring research to flood public discourse with doubt, so this industry poses inane talking points as existential questions and even funds research into them.

Real New Yorkers know how to sidewalk ballet these situations.
