On the other hand, the trend for marriages involving Asian and American Indian partners has flatlined since the 1990s. I also include additional analyses of large multiracial groups, panethnic subgroups, cohabitation, and same sex marriage. (5/6)

The frequency of interracial marriage rose exponentially over the time period for many racial combinations. This exponential increase is most notable for marriages involving black partners, which started with the lowest likelihood. (4/6)

I analyze "pairwise" frequency between these major racial groups (e.g Black/White and Black/Asian), allowing me to examine both majority-minority and dual-minority pairings. Log-linear models allow me to adjust for local racial composition. (3/6)

Surprisingly, our understanding of these trends is quite piecemeal and incomplete. This article aims to correct that by measuring trends across all major racial groups from 1960 to 2023. The overall story is one of heterogeneity. (2/6)
