@mattsinger.bsky.socialReposted by @timgrierson.bsky.socialLA! Cancel all your plans and come see me and @timgrierson.bsky.social at @vromansbookstore.bsky.social tomorrow @ 2pm.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialIn honor of National Literacy Month and Dolly Parton's passing,
@sstoebner.bsky.social put together a free bookshop for kids in our neighborhood. Then she wrote about what she learned from the experience.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialThis Sunday at 2pm, I'll be speaking with @mattsinger.bsky.social at @vromansbookstore.bsky.social about his really great (and unexpectedly poignant) book FUNNY BUSINESS. You should come out.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialReposted by @timgrierson.bsky.socialFor the @latimes.com, I hung out with Cristian Mungiu. We talked about fatherhood, his brief time making comedies, what everybody knows about Romania, and his great new film FJORD.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialOh, they're incorporated in SO MANY WAYS -- not just for "Look, here's this famous L.A. locale" shots.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialReally bummed I'll miss this tomorrow.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialBut the ones in AMBULANCE look incredible!
@timgrierson.bsky.socialANIMALS: You cannot imagine how many terrible drone shots there are in this movie.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialThe short-lived I WANT YOUR SEX era was a fun one.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialRosalind Eleazar is terrific in MISTY GREEN, Chris Rock's angry, sometimes dramatically shaky takedown of Hollywood's racism and sexism.
@mattsinger.bsky.socialReposted by @timgrierson.bsky.socialSunday! Me and @timgrierson.bsky.social discuss Funny Business at @vromansbookstore.bsky.social in Pasadena.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialFor the @latimes.com, I hung out with Cristian Mungiu. We talked about fatherhood, his brief time making comedies, what everybody knows about Romania, and his great new film FJORD.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialThis is so awful, Christy -- I'm so sorry. (Also, I know Kyle Tucker didn't have a great season, but c'mon: He's not THAT bad.)
@timgrierson.bsky.socialOn their own, neither Nathan Fielder nor Lance Oppenheim has ever made anything as singular as YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING. It's a funhouse mirror, a psychological thriller and one of the most haunting things I've seen in a good long while. Here's my review.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialFor @rollingstone.com, I said goodbye to the great Eva Marie Saint.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialLuca's worst gaffe since he had Chalamet wear a Talking Heads shirt in CALL ME BY YOUR NAME that didn't exist during that film's time frame.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialI enjoyed watching Andrew Garfield play an exceptionally slimy Sam Altman, but otherwise ARTIFICIAL is a bit of a disappointment, turning our AI fears into a fairly standard SOCIAL NETWORK-style cautionary tale.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialThere are 29 days until the midterms.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialThe second installment of MY UNDESIRABLE FRIENDS is a very different film than the first. And a must-see.
@timgrierson.bsky.socialJoin us this Sunday! Really looking forward to talking to Matt.
